Terms of Service

Last updated 30 June 2026

Synlog is a free electronic lab notebook that runs in your browser. By using it, you agree to these terms.

The service

Synlog lets you draw chemical structures, build stoichiometry tables, draft procedures, and export your work. It is provided free of charge, with no accounts and no backend. It may change or stop being available at any time.

Your data is your responsibility

Your notebooks are stored only where you choose - in your browser, on your own computer, or on your own Google Drive. Because nothing is stored on a server we control, keeping backups of your work is up to you. We are not responsible for any loss of data.

Acceptable use

  • Use the app lawfully and at your own risk.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, attack, or misuse the service.
  • You are responsible for the content you create and for verifying any AI-generated procedure before relying on it.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Chemistry is hazardous: any procedures, quantities, or suggestions produced by the app - including AI-generated ones - are drafts that you must independently review for safety and correctness before use in a laboratory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app.

Changes

These terms may be updated; the current version will always be posted on this page.
